Top leaders of the ruling coalition members CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist are likely to sign a new agreement which would save the incumbent government from toppling immediately.
Top leaders of the parties on Thursday evening held a meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar today.
They discussed priorities of the budget and the policy and programmes to be tabled at the House for the next fiscal as well as addressing concerns of agitating political forces.
Earlier, on Wednesday, the UCPN-Maoist had decided to form the new government under its own leadership, which apparently had put UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s premiership at stake.
The Maoist supremo, however, withdrew his statement today and informed Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba that forming the government under his leadership was not easy.
Earlier, it was reported that the Congress had extended support to the Maoists for the new government.
