Slackline walker conquers notorious Tiger Leaping Gorge

April 27, 2016 :
Zhang Liang, a professional Chinese slackline walker, also dubbed “fancy sling first person”, successfully made it across the Tiger Leaping Gorge on Tuesday morning. The Tiger Leaping Gorge (Chinese name: Hu Tiao Xia) is located 60 kilometers north of Lijiang city, Yunnan Province in southwestern China. It is a scenic canyon on the Jinsha River, a section of the upper Yangtze River. The 60-meter-long sling was fixed just 16 meters above the river, which is considered highly dangerous. Zhang set off to cross it at around 10:15 in the morning from the Lijiang side of the river, and walked toward the Shangri-La side.
