Things haven’t gone all too well for KXIP. After being put in to bat, Vohra was accounted for by Morne Morkel. However Murali Vijay and Shaun MArsh steadies the ship but they weren’t able to force the pace.
Vijay was done in by a superb googly from Piyush Chawla leaving KXIP under a lot of pressure.It’s Match 13 of the Indian Premier League and it pits the resurgent Kings XI Punjab up against the in-form, Kolkata Knight Riders. David Miller’s men have got their confidence back after a convincing victory over MS Dhoni’s Pune outfit. On the other hand, Gambhir and his merry men can join Gujarat Lions at the top of the table with a win tonight. It’s still early stages of the tournament as yet and both teams will look to sustain momentum – going into the latter half of the tournament.
After losing their first two games, KXIP roared back into contention with a comprehensive win over the Supergiants. The bowling was disciplined and the openers then set-up the perfect base. The middle-order floundered a bit, but Glenn Maxwell, was at hand to steer them home. Having logged in their first points, KXIP will look to further boost their tally tonight. Having said so, it isn’t an easy task. Up against them are a team that comprises of seasoned campaigners. With two wins out of three, Kolkata have settled down well, the batting has been polished while the bowlers have taken to their task with aplomb. On paper, they boast of the better team, but this is T20 cricket and reputations count for little.
